The thing about this is that sculptures like these in art history were for the male gaze. Photoshop a phone to it and suddenly she’s seen as vain and conceited. That’s why I’m 100% for selfie culture because apparently men can gawk at women but when we realize how beautiful we are we’re suddenly full of ourselves…

YES.

Girls don’t let anyone tell you loving yourself is vanity.

“You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.” ― John Berger, Ways of Seeing

hey what if someone invented a machine that allowed women to transfer their pregnancies to men and then the government passed a law that if a woman didn’t want to have a baby the biological father was required to carry it how fast do you think birth control would stop being an issue

BEST NIGHTBLOG POST EVER

"IT’S UNETHICAL TO FORCE PEOPLE TO CARRY A BABY!!!!" MEN SHOUT

"NO FUCKING SHIT!!!!" WOMEN REPLY

I feel constricted, surrounded, smothered, and chained down. I was given my wings only to have them handcuffed behind my back, and now I’m locked to this stated temporarily. I chose my sun. The sun is there everyday, even if its not shining in my face, but I wish it would find someone elses world to give light to. While its magnificent and beautiful, I don’t desire for it to be my sun anymore. I would rather walk through the darkness alone, but doing that would cause the sun to cease to shine, I’m sure. Which leaves me feeling cornered. Last time I felt cornered, I chose to leave the state. One of the worst decisions of my life, but obviously I’m just not good at making decisions. But then again, maybe I just don’t know what I want. Scratch that, I don’t know what I want, except to be left the hell alone.
